Doxycycline Hyclate
Doxycycline hyclate is a long-acting tetracycline antibiotic. It functions by reversibly binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit of bacteria, preventing the access of aminoacyl-tRNA to the mRNA-ribosome complex to completely shut down protein production. It also displays secondary metalloproteinase-inhibiting properties that reduce tissue breakdown.
